Your poems - Year 6
James Jordan - Being deaf
I am half deaf and half hearing
I am half signing and half talking.

I feel embarrassed when I sign to my mum because everyone looks at me.

Sometime I have infection in my left ear
Because I have lot of ear wax.

Visiting my Nan in the care home.

Sometime I feel sorry for my Nan because she has problem and she always say to me you are my favourite boy and she repeat it again so I said
Thank you Nan.

Favourite team is ENGLAND.
Because my favourite is red and they have brilliant player.

Christopher Packer - Untitled
I am half tanned and half pale
I hate being white because I don’t like being so bright.
I am half deaf and half hearing
I feel happy with being deaf
I feel ok with people looking at me because they see how people feel about deaf.

Jasmine Whipps - Prefer Cochlear-Implant
I like my Hearing-aid but prefer my Cochlear Implant.

I like crisps but prefer chocolate.

I like sunny but didn’t like cold.

I like drink water but prefer orange.

I like sleep but prefer wake up.

I feel pleased with sign and speech.

I find sign easy for me but I like speech because it helps me understand what people say.

I like life best with Sign and speech.

Kyon Djan - I am deaf
I am Kyon
I am Deaf
I like my implant
Because I can hear.

Sometimes I don't like my implant.
People shout too loud.
I take it off.
When they stop
I put it back on.

Some children say,
"What's that in your ear?
Is it a phone?"
I say, "NO! And I don't
WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT!"
That gets on my nerves.
Makes me cross.

I go swimming
With my mum.
I can't hear anything underwater.

I go to the park.
I go to my mum's friend's house.

Sometimes when my mum talks
To my sister I say,
"What mum?"
And she says it again.

I LOVE being deaf.
I am different.
I love being different.

Tahiya E-Khoda - Loves, hates and dreams
I love, I love
Playing with my brother
I love I love
Wearing my hearing aids.
They make me hear better.

I love I love my family.
When I was a little girl,
I never took my hearing aids off.

I love I love
People telling me that I am a quiet girl.

I hate I hate
People shouting at me.
I hate I hate
My hearing aids going
Off on off on,
It makes me so annoyed.

I dream I dream
About playing with deaf children
And sometimes hearing children.
I dream I dream
About shopping with my family,
About going on holiday with my family.

When I grow, I grow,
I will love to be a teacher,
A teacher of deaf children.

Ella Gavin - Life and Deaf
I have been deaf
From the beginning of my life.
I have a little box
Full of old hearing aids.

It's great being deaf.
But sometimes I get really angry!!!
I shove my hearing aids
Across the floor
Because they go
Beep, beep, beep!
And ON, OFF, ON, OFF.
It can be so ANNOYING!

And when some people talk
I don't understand them.
They talk to fast
Like they're saying
'XEYIDAILYMMOURRDINK'
Roaring like a car
'VRRROOOOOM'
It's like I am in another world.

But it's ok!
My family and friends
Know me.
They talk slow.

My friends and family are special
Because they make me feel
NORMAL.

Oguzham Arisoy - Batteries
I am named Oguzhan Arisoy.
I am deaf.
I wear hearing aids.

Being deaf is when you can't hear/
It is so hard.
I have to listen very carefully.
So it gets so exhausting.

When I go to bed,
I take my hearing aids off.
Taking them off,
Allows me to sleep peacefully.
No more listening.
PHEW!

And when I do sleep,
I dream.
I dream about my school,
About everyone being deaf.

Then the phone alarm goes off.
"BRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMM"
It's half past 6!
Time to go to school.

I get on the bus.
Then I hear something go "BEEP, BEEP.....BEEP, BEEP.....BEEP."

It's my hearing aids.

My batteries have run out AGAIN!!!
OH NO!

I get to school.
AAwwwww!!!
Time to listen.

I hate my hearing aids,
But I like them at the same time.
So I would never be anywhere.....
.....without them.

Cameron Levy-Pollack - Being Deaf
When I was little,
First I had hearing aids.
Then I got a cochlear Implant.
I feel excited,
Because I got both now.

I help my family.
My family are very kind
I feel very happy.

When people ask me
"Why are you deaf?"
I feel sad and shy.

People ask me
"What is that thing in your ear?"
I feel lonely and worried.

When my mum
Talks to me
I can understand.
I feel calm
