Your poems - Year 5
Rej Muharemi - Being Deaf
Be good at school.
End of the day I go home in a taxi.
I like being deaf.
Never throw a hearing aid.
Good in the unit because it’s nice in there.

Deaf children like to do work.
Every day you go in the unit.
Always stop fidgeting.
Fed up when the teacher keeps talking.

By Rej Muharemi
Norwood Green Junior School

Rebecca Bradford - Being Deaf
Be happy with my hearing aid
Equipment fiddling is noisy
I don’t like putting on my hearing aid
Nice when people sign
Good in the unit

Don’t like it when my hearing aid whistles
End of the day I go home on the bus
Always put your hand up
Fed up when teachers talk a lot

By Rebecca Bradford
Norwood Green Junior School

Rahul Pankhania - Being Deaf
Be happy I have a new hearing aid.
Every day I put on my hearing aid.
I can hear.
Never talk when walking around.
Good listening.

Don’t ignore.
Enjoy having new hearing aids.
A hearing aid is good.
Fed up when some people are calling out!

Shelby Hirst - Being Deaf
Be happy with my hearing aid
Enjoy playing with my friends
I like new hearing aids
Not good to have dirty ear moulds
Good to have sign language

Do good listening
Enjoy your new radio aid
A hearing aid helps you listen
Face a teacher when they talk

Taaseen Choudhury - Being Deaf
Be kind to other deaf children
Everyday I like to play on the scooter
In the class I like to play games
Nice to have fun
Good to have lots of friends

Do not walk away when you talk
Enjoy it when class is quiet
Always like cochlear implant, when that’s loud I can hear
Face a deaf child

Mohamed Ahmed - I AM important!
My name is Mohamed
I like playing with my deaf friends.
I don;t line being deaf sometimes

I go to assembly.
I try my best to listen.
But it is too noisy
I feel un-important

When I was young
I threw my hearing aids.
I was so small
And so silly.

I like helping mum at home.
My sister is deaf.
Sometimes we sign together.

When children say,
"What's that in your ear?
What's that in your ear?"
I can't take it any more.
So I tell them,
"Please don't ask me that.
I AM DEAF.
Bye Bye!"

Fatimas Farhan - My Deafness
I can't hear
But my mind can race
Thinking, learning and gaining knowledge.

I can't hear
But my eyes can see,
Concerts, animals and seas!

I can't hear
But my nose can smell,
Hot chocolate, roses and latte.

I can't hear,
But my lips can taste,
Chocolate, marshmellows and strawberries dipped in whipped cream!

I can't hear
But my hands can touch,
Smooth grass, my furry pillow and my soft and silky hair!

I can't hear,
But my heart can love,
Happiness, loveliness and excitement.

I ask you:
Why don't you hear me?

By Fatimas Farhan

Sophie Cuersen - Why don't I hear you?
My ears can't hear
But my mind can race!
Thinking and learning and doing.

My ears can't hear
But my eyes can see!
Animals and mountains and the TV!

My ears can't hear
But my nose can smell!
Airwick and hot chocolate and perfume.

My ears can't hear
But my lips can taste
Chocolate and strawberries and ice-cream.

My ears can't hear
But my heart can love
Happiness and joy and excitment.

I ask you:
Why don't you hear me?

Elisha Adamola Anwo - My monsters name is Blade
This creature lives in a cave.
It comes out and hunt if any one is somewhere in the wood.
And often if it sees anyone it will just roar and scare them away and then it will go back into its cave.
It is the colour of a bear that lives in an arctic.
And eats all kinds of fishes that lives in the sea.
Notice how it will grunt if something hurts his feet or his body.
It has the most distinctive cry like raaaaaaar
Beware the most strongest roaring monster in the world.
Do not ever go near it or touch it or do silly faces at it or shout at it

Brad-Lee Carr - Happiness
I'm as happy as a tiger with a piece of meat
I'm as happy as a boy with a tasty sweet
I'm as happy as a bird with a new nest home
I'm as happy as a man with a garden gnome

I'm as happy as a shark with a big fat fish
I'm as happy as a girl with a genie wish
I'm as happy as a cat with a wind up mouse
I'm as happy as a spider with a crawling louse

I'm as happy as a duck with a deep deep pond
I'm as happy as a snake with a big long tongue
I'm as happy as a king with a crown and throne
I'm as happy as a dog with a juicy bone

Sam - Bus Driver
I have 2 implants.
I am deaf.
When I take my implants off
I feel scared of the shadows.
When I put my implants on
I feel happy.
I can hear really loud
I can hear birds chirping.
I hear children outside.
I hear shouting.
I don’t like people shouting.
“NA NA NA NA NA NA NaA!!!!”
It makes me a headache.
Then I cry and run away.
I love watching rugby with my dad.
I help my mum do cooking.
I play with my sister.
When I grow up
