Your poems - Year 11
Rebecca Poole - Becksterr
Beautiful
Enjoys laughing at my dad singing in the shower
Can’t drive wish I could
Katie is my best friend
Scott is like a brother to me
Talking is my hobby
Excited about my holiday
Really funny
Really hopes for a good relationship

Kimberley Ramos - There is a place
There is a place,
Where songs were never sung,
Tunes are never hummed,
And words are never written.

In this place mouths are not for speaking
And you cannot hear it with your ears.
Just like similar to a goldfish in a bowl.

This place has no name
Not smell or sounds....
This place is mad from feelings.
Deaf people do have hope, visions, ideas, and dreams.
It is constructed by imagination.
It is imagination
Only you can feel this place with your heart...
But I suppose to smile is to show the happiness.
Little do they know how truely miserable I am.
I am at loss where a place that make me uncomfortable.
People panic and retreat to avoidance,
Deaf people are like plague.
But deaf people are still human beings
With dreams, desires and needs
Of belonging, just like everybody else is all over the places.

Tity Kamara - Deaf is not Dumb
I like to making joke with my friends
People do not always understand deafness
When somebody talks to deaf people they often do it very slowly and clearly.
Deafness doesn’t have to stand in the way of your dream you can be a superstar!
Just be true who you are
I hate it when people say that deaf people they are dumb when deaf people aren’t.
This makes me feel sad and angry.
But me I don’t care what they say deaf is not dumb

Damien Beazley - Don't be a killer be a good kid!
Don’t be a killer be a good person
Why because being a good person means people will want to be friends with you.
How? Stop fighting and walk away from it!

Don’t be a killer be a nice person
Why because you have to talk to people in a nice way.
How? Be nice, stop and think what you are going to say.

Don’t be a killer be a very kind person
Why Be kind, let me think, how about giving or helping people?
How? Your manners, take them if they’re lost to the correct place, not fake.

Don’t be a killer be a generous person
Why If that person has done something for you thank them
How? you give a lot or buy things for that person

Don’t be a killer be a loving person
Why love that person for what they have done or how they love you
How? Ask someone out or marry them.

Don’t be a killer be a gorgeous person
Why because that person thinks you’re gorgeous meaning ‘I love you so much’ but really too much ‘you’re a pretty boy or girl’.
How? When you know that person for a long time and they love you, take them out for a drink or to a café.

Don’t be a killer be a cute person
Why because that person is very cute similar to a baby’s face in that person.
How? You are at work and then you see this girl or boy walk past then you think ‘OMG s/he lovely’.

Don’t be a killer be a good kid
Why because being a good kid means being a good adult
How? Like life by the truth!

Don’t be a killer be a good and strong person
Why Be a strong person because you mite not know you are strong but I know you all are! Please just try your best for me.
How? I know you all can do.

BE THE BEST YOU CAN!

YOU CAN DO IT, JUST DO IT 4 ME!

Fahima Hussain - DEAF IS DUMB……NOT!!!!
Deaf not Dumb!
Everybody agree with me?
Are you dumb?....NO!
Fortunately I can sign and speak

I can prove them wrong!
So can you prove them wrong?....YES!

Deaf is Power
Unfortunately hearing people think we are dumb because we can’t speak
Mostly deaf can SPEAK!
But in the English dictionary “Dumb means people who can’t speak. WE CAN!

No one should call us DUMB!
Or bully us because we can’t speak like them
Tomorrow something could happen and they might become deaf!

Anon - My Life
I used to lay in my bed
Wishing I was dead
Don’t ask me why
I don’t know.

I used to stay in my room
All on my own
Don’t ask me why
I’m not sure.

I don’t want to be like this
I need a change
Look at all the things I’ll miss
I need a future.

I want to be a hairdresser
But look who cares about money
I don’t know what to do anymore
Why does life have to be hard?

I want to be a cook maybe
Maybe that would work for me
Yes! That’s it! I will be a chef
It’s my life and only I control it.

My life, my dream and my future!
